Founder of Bilim Group, the largest EdTech company in Kazakhstan. Holder of degrees in International Relations and Strategic Management. A former Academic Fellow at Harvard University.
Since 2011, he has been developing projects in digital education and the promotion of the Kazakh language. He founded the WikiBilim Foundation and received the international Wikimedian of the Year award for his contributions to the development of the Kazakh Wikipedia. In partnership with Google, he initiated and led the effort to add the Kazakh language to Google Translate.
Under his leadership, Bilim Group has grown into an ecosystem of more than 15 digital products with millions of users. He oversaw the creation of platforms such as iMektep, Kitap.kz, Twig-Bilim, BilimLand, iTest, OnlineMektep, BilimUstaz, BilimKids, BilimCenter, and other digital solutions for schools and teachers.
Since 2022, Bilim Group has partnered with Coursera, enabling more than one hundred thousand university students in Kazakhstan to study the best courses from the world’s leading universities. In 2025, Bilim Group became a partner of OpenAI, providing Kazakh teachers with access to the ChatGPT Edu service.
In addition, Rauan Kenzhekhanuly initiated the creation of the National Translation Bureau foundation and the implementation of the national project “100 New Textbooks,” as well as the development of the first Kazakh–English dictionary, the Oxford Qazaq Dictionary, in partnership with Oxford University Press.
