Founder of Bilim Group, the largest EdTech company in Kazakhstan. Holder of degrees in International Relations and Strategic Management. A former Academic Fellow at Harvard University.

Since 2011, he has been developing projects in digital education and the promotion of the Kazakh language. He founded the WikiBilim Foundation and received the international Wikimedian of the Year award for his contributions to the development of the Kazakh Wikipedia. In partnership with Google, he initiated and led the effort to add the Kazakh language to Google Translate.

Under his leadership, Bilim Group has grown into an ecosystem of more than 15 digital products with millions of users. He oversaw the creation of platforms such as iMektep, Kitap.kz, Twig-Bilim, BilimLand, iTest, OnlineMektep, BilimUstaz, BilimKids, BilimCenter, and other digital solutions for schools and teachers.

Since 2022, Bilim Group has partnered with Coursera, enabling more than one hundred thousand university students in Kazakhstan to study the best courses from the world’s leading universities. In 2025, Bilim Group became a partner of OpenAI, providing Kazakh teachers with access to the ChatGPT Edu service.

In addition, Rauan Kenzhekhanuly initiated the creation of the National Translation Bureau foundation and the implementation of the national project “100 New Textbooks,” as well as the development of the first Kazakh–English dictionary, the Oxford Qazaq Dictionary, in partnership with Oxford University Press.
Rauan Kenzhekhanuly
CEO and Co-Founder of Bilim Group
Expert in educational technologies and a key contributor to Bilim Group since 2013. Graduate of Satbayev University, with a degree in Computer Science; started as Web Developer, progressed to CTO, then CPO, and became CEO in 2025.

Alexandr was at the forefront of creating the company’s first products: iTest, BilimLand, Kitap.kz, iMektep, and Twig-Bilim. He was leading their initial development and subsequent scaling — today, these services are used by millions of students and teachers.

At various times, he headed the group’s technology divisions, including the development of the SmartNation IT platform, which automates government services and administrative processes in education.

During the pandemic, he initiated the creation of the OnlineMektep platform in collaboration with Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools (NIS), ensuring schools across the country could transition to distance learning.

Under his leadership, the development of the BilimClass digital gradebook was resumed, which now operates in 12 regions, serving 350,000 teachers and 2.5 million students.
Alexandr Savchenko
President of the Bilim Foundation
Candidate of Legal Sciences with extensive experience in teaching, research, and legal expertise on draft legislation (2000–2016) at the Institute of State and Law, Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. President of the Bilim Foundation since February 2017, leading key social initiatives.

The social initiatives include the prevention of youth suicide and the promotion of mental health; the educational program “Zharkyn Bolashak”; the BF Line free psychological support hotline; and projects aimed at modernizing and improving the quality of education in rural schools.
Yerlan Aitmukhambet
Chief Communications Officer
Expert with 10+ years of experience in communications and marketing, providing consultations for companies and startups in education, IT, and healthcare.

At Bilim Group, Assem leads the development of the holding’s external communications strategy. She manages relationships with media outlets, partners, and key stakeholders, while also overseeing the strategic PR direction across all companies within the group.

Over the years, she has led PR functions at the Bureau of Continuing Professional Education of the Astana International Financial Centre (AIFC) and at educational organizations of the international “Bilim–Innovation” Foundation (Ustaz Pro, Qundylyq).

As a PR manager, she participated in the public information campaign explaining the OSHI reforms at the Social Health Insurance Fund. Additionally, she worked on promoting startups and IT companies as part of the Astana Hub team.
Assem Berik
Head of Government Relations
Holder of a Master of Laws degree and a higher education degree in Economics. Joined Bilim Group in May 2025. Responsible for strategic engagement with government authorities and educational institutions.

Rauan’s scope of responsibility includes developing partnerships with central and regional government bodies, overseeing key projects of the group of companies, analyzing and monitoring the regulatory and legal environment, and building transparent and trust-based communication between the government and Bilim Group.
Rauan Rymbek
HR Director
A Master of Social Sciences with 15 years of experience in human resources, complemented by additional education in coaching (ICF), career guidance, career and psychological counseling, SHL, DISC, and AI HR.

Raushan joined Bilim Group in April 2025, where she leads the People Team and is also responsible for developing and implementing the HR strategy, managing key HR processes, strengthening the leadership team, fostering corporate culture and internal communications, and contributing to organizational change initiatives.
Raushan Zhakupova
Head of SmartNation
Specialist at the intersection of technology, management, and system analytics, with a background in Accounting and Auditing and International Economics. Joined Bilim Group in 2018 as Project Manager during the founding stage of SmartNation.

Under his leadership, the system became one of the leading solutions in the education automation market and was scaled across 16 regions and three cities of regional significance.
Yermek Kamenov
Head of OQU
Graduate of E. Buketov Karaganda University with 15 years of experience in the education sector, including teaching and leadership roles within government bodies. Joined Bilim Group in 2024 as Head of Government Relations; contributed to the implementation of the BilimClass platform in schools across Kazakhstan.

Currently, Nazir is working on the implementation of a new large-scale project in collaboration with Bilim Group’s partners, where he applies his educational, managerial, and technical expertise.
Nazir Zhashibekov
Lead Product Manager, BilimClass
Graduate of Narxoz University, with a degree in Accounting and Auditing; holds a Bachelor’s in Economics and Business. Joined Bilim Group in 2019, contributing to the development and editing of educational video content.

In 2021, he transitioned to a product role, focusing on the development of the OnlineMektep platform. In 2022, he became a Product Manager, and in 2025, he was promoted to Lead Product Manager of the BilimClass electronic diary and gradebook.

Farkhat is fully responsible for the product: he shapes its strategy, sets priorities for functional development, monitors key metrics, and ensures the quality of the service in schools. Additionally, he leads several cross-functional teams working on development, analytics, and implementation of BilimClass.
Farkhat Ussen
Managing Director of BilimUpSkill
Assel Mukhametzhanova is an education and EdTech expert with more than 15 years of experience in educational program management, policy development, including initiatives that enhance human capital. She holds a PhD in Education from Nazarbayev University (2017) and a Master’s degree in Teaching and Learning from Minnesota State University (2010). She was also awarded scholarships through the Edmund S. Muskie Graduate Fellowship Program (2008) and Cambridge Assessment (2011).

Over the years, she has held leadership positions at major educational institutions and organizations, including the National Center for Professional Development “Orleu”, the World Bank, the Department of Lifelong Learning at Nazarbayev University, and the Administration of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

In 2023, she joined Bilim Group as Managing Director of BilimUpSkill. Under her leadership, the company launched a large-scale initiative that provided more than 40,000 university students across Kazakhstan with access to courses from the global online learning platform Coursera, including localized educational content.

She also established methodological and technical support systems for regional universities across the country. In addition, Assel leads the company’s B2B direction, helping organizations build a culture of continuous learning and professional development.
